Change an image’s pixel dimensions to fit a website, profile, or submission requirement. With aspect ratio enabled, editing either dimension updates the other. Turning it off allows an exact width and height but can stretch the picture. Enlarging an image adds interpolated pixels; it cannot recover detail missing from the original.
A practical example
Resize a 1600 × 1200 photo to 800 pixels wide with proportions locked. The height becomes 600 pixels, keeping the picture’s original shape.
A useful tip
For crisp web images, begin with a larger original and resize down. The output is limited to 24 megapixels and 12,000 pixels per side.

Does resizing change the file size?
Usually, but file size also depends on content, output format, and quality. Fewer pixels generally need less storage.
Can I resize without stretching?
Keep the aspect ratio checkbox enabled. If an exact shape is required, crop the image to that shape first.
