How to use PDF Metadata Viewer
- Choose a PDF from your device. Your files are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers.
- Choose your PDF to read its standard document details.
- Review the details and optionally download a text-based JSON report.
A closer look
PDFs can contain a title, author, subject, keywords, and the software used to create them. These are editable descriptions, not proof of authorship or the true time a document was written. Blank fields mean the standard property is absent. This viewer does not inventory attachments or every custom metadata stream.
A practical example
A file named report-final.pdf may still have an old internal title. Open it here to inspect the stored title and author before sharing it.
A useful tip
Review these details before sharing a document, especially when its author field contains a personal name.
Good questions. Simple answers.
Why are some details missing?
The program that created the PDF may not have saved them. Toolzafi shows an empty value rather than guessing.
